Ice Ice Baby, Dun dun dun dundun dun dun

Ask and ye shall receive. Apparently that's true. My previous post asked for someone to work for me so that I could go to Des Moines, and sure enough I just got back from Des Moines this afternoon. I didn't even lose any hours in the deal, it worked out fantabulously.

Today at work is what I'm going to call, "The Craziest Night at Copp's Food Center EVER!" Here goes...

First off, I got to work and it was really really dark out. Like, we're all going to die due to the ominous clouds, kinda dark out. So we kept randomly going outside to see what the weather was like, mostly because we didn't want to be there and were hoping that the power would go out. Well, the last time we went out there as the storm was going away, Brian, the Manager on Duty tonight, came out behind us to see what we were doing. There was a fire somewhere nearby, most likely from the lightening, and we could hear sirens. Brian made the comment, "I wonder if one of those is our ambulance." Both Andy and I looked at him inquisitively. To which he replied, "I'm 95% sure I just touched a dead guy." Yeah, that's right, an old guy died in the bathroom at work tonight. The police and paramedics were there for like 3 hours and we were trying to keep it quiet from the customers, they all had to use the women's bathroom. It was crazy. I have no idea how to describe it, it was just so weird to know there was a dead guy on the other side of that door. I don't think I'll ever be able to use that bathroom again.

On a lighter note, the next 2 weeks are going to be awesome, I'll just keep thinking about that...

Have a nice summer!
